Also, since this is part of a series of TPBs that you’ll want to line up on your shelf I need to alert the OCD crowd that the diagonal lines on the spine of these books do not sync up… so that might be a bit irritating.

For instance, Batgirl’s totally dark face is flesh colored in one scene or she has visible eyes in another issue. Azrael’s comics look better in this volume than they did in the previous one but there are a lot more coloring and lettering mistakes in this time around that I can’t help but wonder why nobody bothered to fix. Just like the previous volume, this one uses the dynamic DC logo from the past decade, features a numbered table of contents but no page numbers, and it utilizes the nice glossy paper that looks great and makes for a leaner, more managable book unlike the mammoth Knightfall volumes that have to be read at the table. An angry Batman gripping barbed wire as he wades through flood waters-that gets the message across unlike volume 1 which showed Batman heroically swinging over the city with all of his female pals. When compared to volume 1, this book has a much, much better cover. And please, if you’re going to give NML a chance you should start with volume 1 first or even go back further and check out Cataclysm. Anyway, here’s my review of the new edition of volume 2.
